What is the deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Michael Vick has put up solid numbers for them the past two games that he has played and I still think he gives them the best chance to win yet they are sitll debating putting Kolb back in. He has matured on the field. Watching him play, you can see that he is keeping his eyes down the field and he chooses to be a quarterback now instead of a runner.
We all know what Michael Vick has done in his past, but if the guy gives your team the best chance to win wouldn't you let him play? He has served his time and some may still never forgive him for his past but I would like to see him get a chance to prove himself as a player.
What the Eagles now have to decide is whether or not they want to admit a rebuilding stage, with McNabb out and an inexperienced quarterback in Kolb, or do they want to start Vick and see where it takes them. I would choose Vick with the way things are looking right now.
i definately agree with you. the only reason i think they want to keep kolb as the qb is because of the big contract they gave him. i think everyone knows who the better qb but the eagles want kolb to be the next rodgers, but that is not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you here the Eagles should absolutely start Michael Vick. After watching his past two performances, I think he deserves the chance to start once Kolb comes back. With Andy Reid sticking to his decision in starting Kolb, I think he is looking at him as the future quarterback. Coach Reid seems stubborn if he does not start Vick because the fans see this as, like you said, a rebuilding stage, instead of competing for the Super Bowl now. In this case, I think Vick would give them the best chance to win it this season.
ReplyDeleteThey want Kolb to be the new McNabb, but those are very large shoes to fill and I don't think he can get it done, but who knows I guess he hasn't played that much.
ReplyDeleteI can see where you are coming from, but at the same point I feel a little different. I understand that Michael Vick is a key player and of course any coach would want to play an experienced player over and inexperienced. This is also the case since it is the Quarterback position. The thing that I am hung up on is the fact that if he was not a star athlete, would he still be paying for his actions? It just does not seem fair to me to treat athletes and celebrities different than average people. After all, we all human. It is like just because someone has money or has been on television before, they get a break in the jail time or punishment they face. The athletes are just as bad as the celebrities like Lindsay Lohan. I just feel as if we should all be punished equally and that no matter what no one should get off easy just because of their name. It is a rough situation and it would be nice to see Vick take the field again, but I really do not know that I could look at him the same way or not after all of this, which Ben Roethlisburger is the same way in my opinion. Afterall, athletes are supposed to be role models and people we look up to.
